Visit by Shri Mallika Sarabhai

Mallika Sarabhai is an activist and Indian classical dancer and actress from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. She is a daughter of a classical dancer Mrinalini Sarabhai and a space scientist, Dr. Vikram Sarabhai. today she visited Aastha Charitable Trust Ananddham and spent some time with our inmates and knew about the activities we carry out on our campus. She was very much impressed by our campus, cleanliness, and the care we provide to our residents. She showed interest to support if we start activities like dancing for our inmates. Our Managing Trustee and President Shri Rajubhai joined her during the visit.

Independence Day Celebration at Ananddham

76th Independence Day was celebrated in Aastha Charitable Trust Ananddham in the presence of Shri Neha Mehta, a well-known television actress. Our inmates were very much excited to see her as they have seen Nehaji in Tarak Mehta ka Ulta Chashma TV serial. Neha ji talked to them, took pictures with them, and explained the importance of health and safety in the current time.

ADHAR card camp at Ananddham Campus

ADHAR card is one of the most important documents to get government benefits for divyang people. Some of our inmates did not have ADHAR cards and we were trying to communicate with district authorities. On 8th June 2022, with the support of the District Collector of Ahmedabad and the Social Defense Office, Ahmedabad ADHAR enrolment camp was organized in Ananddham. Officers from both departments came to our campus and complete the registration.

Vaccination Drive for residents and staff members

To protect our children and staff, we organized a vaccination drive on our campus with the support of Adroda PHC. 4 children and 11 staff members got Covishield vaccine to protect themselves from COVID-19.

Caregivers Training at Ananddham

To update the knowledge of our caregivers of Ananddham, we have organized two days of training with the support of the Blind Peoples Association. On the First Day, Shri Nandini Raval and Shri Vimal Thawani shared their deep knowledge with our caretakers. They explained intellectual disability and its causes. The second day was more of practical training about brushing, bathing, toileting, and other ADL. The sessions designed for the training program were very much related to the level of our caregivers and they enjoyed the training. All the caregivers requested to arrange such training regularly to update their skills and knowledge and the trust agreed for it.

Christmas Celebration at Ananddham

Christmas is a festival of dance and gifts. All the people with intellectual disabilities at Ananddham, celebrated Christmas on the 25th of December 2021. They cut dressed up in Santa Clause, decorated Christmas tree, and enjoyed dancing on Jingle Bells song. They wished Merry Christmas to each other and enjoyed delicious food.

Inauguration of Computer Centre on International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2021

On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a computer center was inaugurated at Ananddham for intellectually disabled residents. the center was inaugurated by Miss Tina Gautam , daughter of the immediate ex-president of Parivaar Col Gautam. Our residents learn different skills to be independent in their life. The computer center will open new opportunities for them to find employment. We thank our donors for their wonderful support.

Cleanliness Drive

Aastha Charitable Trust Ananddham organized a cleanliness drive on 17th November 2021. All the residents of Ananddham participated in this drive and cleaned the campus. The main objectives of this activity were to teach them about cleanliness, health, hygiene, and teamwork. Everyone enjoyed this activity.

Diwali Celebration at Ananddham

Diwali is a festival of light. Every Indian celebrates this festival with joy and happiness. Although it was a Diwali vacation at Ananddham, some of our divyang people went to their homes for Diwali celebration. However, there were many divyang people who could not go home and preferred to stay with their friends. To make them feel like home, we celebrated Diwali at Ananddham. We decorated the whole campus with Diyas and lights. We celebrated Diwali with new clothes, sweets, and firecrackers.

Bhumi Pujan of Second Phase of Construction of Ananddham

Bhumi Pujan of second phase of construction of Ananddham was completed on 30th August 2021 in the auspicious presence of various dignitaries and disability professionals. The Chief Guest of the function was Shree Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Education and Law Minister, Government of Gujarat. The Guests of Honours were Padmashree Dr. Sudhir Shah, a reputed neurologist; Shree Mihir J. Thakore, Senior Advocate and Shree Pravinbhai A. Shah, President of Ambawadi Jain Sangh. In the second phase, three residential blocks and a workshop will be constructed by the organisation. Due to COVID guidelines, selected guests were invited in the function.

Second batch cataract surgery

The second batch of Anand Dham residents (3 Females) had been operated on for cataract surgery today at Porech Eye Hospital. The surgery has been successful. 2 Male residents have been postponed for surgical intervention due to medical reasons. All patients will be discharged tomorrow. आनंद धाम निवासियों (3 महिलाओं) के दूसरे बैच का आज पोरेच नेत्र अस्पताल में मोतियाबिंद सर्जरी के लिए ऑपरेशन किया गया। सर्जरी सफल रही है। 2 पुरुष निवासियों को चिकित्सकीय कारणों से सर्जिकल हस्तक्षेप के लिए स्थगित कर दिया गया है। सभी मरीजों को कल छुट्टी दे दी जाएगी।

Status of Vaccination of Anand Dham Residents: We are proud to announce that 81% of our residents have taken first dose of Vaccination and 11% of the have taken both dose of vaccine. All of them will be vaccinated as per their turn for second dose. आनंद धाम निवासियों के टीकाकरण की स्थिति: हमें यह घोषणा करते हुए गर्व हो रहा है कि हमारे ८१% निवासियों ने टीकाकरण की पहली खुराक ले ली है और ११% ने टीके की दोनों खुराक ले ली है। उन सभी को दूसरी खुराक के लिए उनकी बारी के अनुसार टीका लगाया जाएगा।

मुझे यह घोषणा करते हुए खुशी हो रही है की आज पोरेचा आई हॉस्पिटल, बरेजा में 3 निवासियों के लिए इंट्राओकुलर लेंस के साथ मोतियाबिंद की सफल सर्जरी की गई है। आनंद धाम के इतिहास में यह पहली बार है कि निवासियों के लिए नेत्र शल्य चिकित्सा का आयोजन किया गया है। एक नेत्र सर्जन द्वारा उनकी पूरी तरह से जांच, देखभाल और उपचार किया गया है। उनकी पोस्ट-ऑपरेटिव देखभाल आनंद धाम के पैरा-मेडिकल स्टाफ द्वारा की जाएगी। हम ब्लाइंड पीपल्स एसोसिएशन और उसकी टीम के आभारी हैं जिन्होंने नेत्र शल्य चिकित्सा के लिए एक शिविर और अन्य संबंधित सुविधाओं का आयोजन करने में मदद की है।

Facilities at Anand Dham to fight against the medical emergency of COVID 19.

This is an overly critical time to face challenges against the pandemic situation but warriors of Anand Dham trying to look after beneficiaries by any means. Management is also arranging required health care equipment for intensive care. considering the requirement of oxygen need in this pandemic, management has purchased two sets of oxygen concentrators for the Anand Dham campus as well as we have also equipped our Ambulance with a life-saving device oxygen cylinder. We have organized an isolation care facility near Ahmedabad where needy individuals are shifted, and hospitalization is also arranged.

Campus Sanitation and Cleanliness

Anand Dham is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for residents, and staff. To maintain efforts to preserve health and wellness, the Aastha Trust had executed the Campus Sanitation and Cleanliness drive through a professional service agency today. Sanitation and disinfection of campus property and amenities are of utmost importance to the health and safety of our individuals. Comprehensive cleaning and sanitizing of the entire premises including the residential building blocks, cottages building, Dining Halls, Laundry, Admin building, Guest room, Auditorium, watchman cabin, and Ambulance, etc has been done as per COVID 19 Campus Sanitation and Cleanliness guideline. It is important to note that to protect our individuals, it is everyone’s responsibility to participate in appropriate cleanliness practices and comply with the regulations set forth.

5th Round of Vaccination

18-04-2021, Sunday Today, we have completed the fifth and final round of COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 45 years and above at Anand Dham. 5 beneficiaries have been vaccinated today. 27 beneficiaries and 17 staff members Total 44 have completed the first dose of vaccination against COVID 19.

Referring to the latest announcement from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Now Aastha Charitable Trust for the Welfare of the Mentally Challenged has been entitled to undertake CSR activities under the Office of the Registrar of Companies. This will be an exceptional opportunity for industries and NGOs to conduct activities jointly under CSR initiatives. This is a recognition and credit to prove the credibility of our social services. Swimming Activity

We have started hiring professional swimming coach services on visiting basis from today to teach swimming skills and techniques to the residents of Anand Dham for sports event participation. Mr. Ranjit Gohel is affected with polio but he is a professional World Champion Swimmer and International Athletics Gold Medallist in the Para Olympics at Australia in the year of 1991. Anand Dham is truly fortunate to receive services from skilled and sensitized human beings from society. Thanks to Shri Rajendrabhai Shah Managing Trustee for making all arrangements and his coordination.

The demise of Ms. Krina Shah...On the way to Heavenly...

We deeply regret to announce the sad demise of Ms. Krina Shah the daughter of Mr. Rajendra Shah, Managing Trustee of Aastha Charitable Trust. She passed away on 07 September 2020. She inspired Rajubhai and sensitized him to become the father of many more individuals with special needs. Due to her holy soul, Anand Dham came into existence. Her remembrance will stay with us forever in the Anand Dham camps as a loving memory. May her soul rest in peace.

Today we have organized COVID-19 Testing for our beneficiaries at the campus with the help of the PHC center. further action will be executed with mutual understanding for treatment if required. The first phase of testing is for the beneficiaries, the second phase of testing will be organized for the staff next week.
